After the Vivo V60 series in 2026, it is now time for the brand new Vivo V70 lineup. While the brand is yet to start talking about the new phones, leaks have already started emerging. The latest one reveals the processor choice for the first-time member, the Vivo V70 Elite.
Vivo V70 Elite will be a premium mid-ranger
An exclusive report from tech publication SmartPrix has revealed that the all-new Vivo V70 Elite is going to rock the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset. This is an interesting choice since it is almost a two-year-old processor at this point.

However, thanks to its relatively newer CPU cores and a capable GPU, it remains a popular choice for OEMs. To recall, the SoC features an octa-core cluster with one core clocked at 3.0 GHz, four cores clocked at 2.8GHz and three cores clocked at 2.0GHz. It bears the Adreno 735 GPU and can support LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.
So, paired with the right peripherals, Vivo has a huge opportunity to bundle a well-rounded package, especially since this will mark the beginning of the "Elite" branding. The report also mentions the fact that this phone will essentially end the mid-range status of the "V" lineup.

With an estimated sub Rs 55,000 market positioning, the V70 Elite will essentially compete with the likes of the OnePlus 15R and the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Mini. So, it will be interesting to see what else Vivo has planned for the upcoming phone.
Also, aside from the V70 Elite, the standard Vivo V70 is also expected to debut beside it. The phone is claimed to sport the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Early reports claim that it will launch in a single 8 GB + 256 GB option and will cost below Rs 45,000.
Hence, it is clear that with the rising cost of smartphones, Vivo is also making sure the V70 series has enough to justify its renewed positioning. There is also mention of UFS 4.1 storage, LPDDR5X RAM and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for both phones. Hopefully, we will learn more details soon as the phones are expected to launch in late January 2026.
