Vivo's next-generation flagships have landed and the standard Vivo X500 is the most affordable offering in the series. Unlike its siblings, the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max, the X500 skips the flashiest camera and performance upgrades.
Vivo X500 Specifications and Features
The standard and Pro variants of the X200 and X300 series were quite indistinguishable. That changes with the Vivo X500, as it finally breaks the loop, bearing resemblance with the Vivo X90 series. The circular camera module is smaller, slightly off-centred and sits on a rectangular bump.
Vivo X500 boasts a 6.59-inch 1.5K 144 Hz LTPS AMOLED display. It's a BOE-sourced panel boasting 5,000 nits of peak brightness and is HDR10+ certified. The panel has slightly slimmer but uniform bezels with a hole-punch cutout at the top for the selfie camera.
When it comes to performance, the standard Vivo X500 boasts the Dimensity 9600M processor. It's MediaTek's new 3nm chipset, launched alongside the Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. With an octa-core setup, it boasts a maximum clock speed of 4.21 GHz and uses an ARMv9.3 all-big-cores.
The overall performance package is very similar to the Dimensity 9500 chipset. It is complemented by up to 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Photography is handled by a triple rear camera setup consisting of a brand-new 50 MP LYT-828 main camera, paired with a 50 MP ultrawide snapper and a 64 MP LYT-610 "submersible" telephoto lens capable of 3.1x optical zoom. The front houses a 50 MP snapper. Vivo says the main camera is the largest ever used in a standard X series phone.
Powering the internals is a massive 7,500mAh Silicon Carbon battery which supports 90W fast charging and 40W wireless charging. Besides, the phone also carries IP69/68 ratings for protection against dust and water. Running the show on the software front is OriginOS 7, based on Android 17, which brings notable features and tricks.
Connectivity-wise, there's dual-SIM with 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C port.

The Vivo X500 is priced at 5,499 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 79,000) in China for the 12 GB + 256 GB variant, whereas the highest 16 GB + 1 TB variant goes for 6,999 Chinese yuan (approximately Rs 1,00,000 ). The smartphone is available in four colours – Pink, White, Grey and Black.
Vivo X500 is now available for pre-order on the Vivo China storefront and goes on open sale starting September 24, 2026. While the India launch is unconfirmed, both the Vivo X500 and Vivo X500 Pro/Pro Max flagships should soon make it to India by the end of October 2026, so stay tuned.
