After recently revealing the Vivo X500 Pro camera specifications, Vivo's Product Manager Han Boxiao has now confirmed the chipset details. He has revealed that the flagship series will be powered by a 2nm Dimensity processor, while also explaining the key upgrades it will bring.

While the X post by Han Boxiao doesn't reveal the exact processor of the Vivo X500 Pro, all signs point to it being the Dimensity 9600 Pro processor. It will be fabricated on TSMC's cutting-edge N2P 2nm node. The core architecture is still under wraps, but previous Dimensity 9600 Pro Geekbench leaks point to an octa-core setup.

Beyond performance, Boxiao revealed that inputs from Vivo have optimised the processor for advanced videography. Vivo and MediaTek have integrated five key imaging capabilities directly into the hardware. Some of them are Log recording, autofocus tracking, smart highlights, XDZ super resolution and 4K Dolby Portrait Video.

The processor will enable the Vivo X500 Pro to record up to 4K at 120 fps in 10-bit for professional use. Besides, the improved NPU will help the phone track the subject better, even at 60 fps. Vivo's Blue Crystal x Dimensity collaboration will allow the phone to take 4K portrait videos with supposedly exceptional dynamic range.

The phone will also combine a 17EV dynamic range ceiling and 3-degree gimbal-level stabilisation. Camera design-wise, a recent Vivo X500 Pro spotted in the wild revealed that the phone could boast the same design as its predecessors, with a compact chassis.

The post didn't reveal the exact camera hardware either, but previous Vivo X500 Pro leaks have suggested a 50 MP main, 50 MP ultrawide and 64 MP periscope telephoto snappers. The main sensor in question could be the newly announced Sony LYT-L910 stacked sensor for better dynamic range.

That said, the post surprisingly has no mention of Zeiss optics, which have been standard on previous X series smartphones. Besides, it's also worth noting that Vivo mentioned the 2nm Dimensity processor will arrive with the Pro and not the entirety of the Vivo X500 series.

This adds to previous Vivo X500 rumours suggesting that the standard variant could stick to a Dimensity 9500 processor or a slightly inferior Dimensity 9600 chipset. That said, for those unaware, the Vivo X500 lineup could consist of the standard Vivo X500, Vivo X500 Pro and Vivo X500 Pro Max.

More information about them should be revealed as we inch closer to their September 2026 launch, so stay tuned.
