MediaTek's upcoming flagship Dimensity 9600 Pro just appeared in a fresh leak and this time we have some estimated Geekbench numbers to look at. Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) has shared the estimated Geekbench 6 scores of the Dimensity 9600 Pro and they are interesting. Note that the early figures are from the chipset's engineering sample.
Dimensity 9600 Pro Leaked Geekbench Scores Look Great, but There Is a Catch
According to DCS, an engineering sample of Dimensity 9600 Pro scores between 4,200 - 4,300 in Geekbench 6 single-core and 12,00 - 12,500 in multi-core. The tipster clarified that these are not actual benchmark runs but the "early design index (estimated score)" of ES samples. The chipset is said to keep the rumoured dual ultra-large core setup with a peak frequency of nearly 5 GHz.
For context, DCS has also shared MediaTek's official presentation data of the Dimensity 9500, which stood at 4,000 in single-core and 11,000 in multi-core. However, in our real-world testing, the Dimensity 9500 chipset scored around 3,300 and 9,900 in Geekbench 6. In other words, MediaTek's own presentation was around 20% ahead of what actual retail units delivered.

If MediaTek can seriously jump to 4,200+ single-core results with the Dimensity 9600 Pro in real-world testing, it would be a proper generational leap over the Dimensity 9500. That said, we need to test MediaTek's claim given its past track record.
For those unaware, the Dimensity 9600 Pro is said to be fabricated on TSMC's latest 2nm (N2P) node. And recent leaks suggest that the Dimensity 9600 Pro is tipped to pack two ultra-large CPU cores with 2x Canyon cores, 3x Gelas-B cores and 3x Gelas cores. It could also support next-gen LPDDR6 RAM, UFS 5.0 storage, and SME2 extension for CPU-driven AI workloads.
Apart from that, MediaTek is reportedly pushing the Dimensity 9600 Pro to touch nearly 5 GHz clock speeds in order to beat Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. That said, without superior cooling methods, the chip could throttle down to lower frequencies under sustained load.
The Dimensity 9600 Pro is expected to debut in the second half of 2026 and may power next-gen flagships like the Vivo X500 series and Oppo Find X10 lineup.
