Summary

  • WhatsApp's new iOS beta 25.24.10.70 build introduces Apple’s upcoming ‘Liquid Glass’ design.
  • The redesign starts with the bottom navigation bar, with more UI elements set to adopt the new look in future updates.
  • WhatsApp is already compiling with the iOS 26 SDK, preparing the app for Apple’s next major iOS release.

WhatsApp has started testing out a redesigned Liquid Glass interface on iOS as part of its latest beta update. This gives testers an early look at the new iOS 26-inspired design language.

Spotted by WABetaInfo, the update is available through TestFlight on version 25.24.10.7. This redesign could potentially make WhatsApp one of the first major apps to adopt Apple's new UI framework, which is expected to debut with iOS 26 this year.

iOS 26's "Liquid Glass" aesthetic introduces a translucent aesthetic and from the looks of it, WhatsApp's bottom navigation bar will get this treatment first. WABetaInfo notes that the refresh will be introduced gradually, with additional elements like buttons and title bars expected to get the new glass-like look soon.

Additionally, WhatsApp is reportedly already compiling the app with the iOS 26 SDK, preparing broader compatibility once the stable iOS 26 version starts rolling out. While there's no timeline yet for a public rollout, since iOS 26 Developer Beta 9 was recently released, one can expect the stable rollout to be right around the corner.

For now, the new interface remains limited to beta testers. However, WhatsApp is expected to refine the look and better the interface in the coming days or months, leading to the stable release.
