Summary

  • The easiest way to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone is by adding your Google Account to your iPhone and syncing contacts.
  • You can also transfer contacts between phones by exporting a VCF file in Google Contacts and open it on iPhone.
  • If you're setting up a brand-new iPhone, you can use the Move to iOS app to move contacts and more from an Android phone.

If you've recently switched or want to switch from an Android phone to a new iPhone, data transfer could be a challenge. Regardless of whether you've already set up the device or not, here's how to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone.

Moving contacts from Android to iPhone using a VCF file

VCF stands for Virtual Contact File, and it's a format for storing contact details like names and phone numbers. You can export your existing contact list from your Android phone using the Google Contacts app and then import it to an iPhone. Here's how to do it:

  1. Open the Contacts app on your Android phone and head over to the Organise tab. Here, scroll down and tap on Export to file.
