Summary

  • Samsung Driving Report is a new One UI 9 feature that logs your car journey automatically and scores your driving.
  • It records the route, distance, duration and speed. It also keeps count of harsh acceleration, hard braking, sharp cornering and how much time you spent on your phone while driving.
  • You can enable Driving Report on your Samsung phone from Settings > Connected devices > Driving report.

Samsung has packed One UI 9 with plenty of features, but there is one addition that I found pretty interesting. The feature is called Driving Report and it lets your Samsung phone act like a judge that studies how you drive. The feature is turned off by default and hidden deep inside the Settings app, so a lot of users are likely to miss it. In this guide, I have explained what Samsung Driving Report is, what it tracks and how you can enable it.

What is Samsung Driving Report?

Driving Report is a new feature on Samsung phones and it has arrived with the One UI 9 update. It logs your car journeys and shows a breakdown of each trip in detail. First off, GPS data from your phone shows the path you took and calculates your speed. It also uses your phone's built-in sensors to detect harsh acceleration, hard braking and abrupt turns.

Basically, you don't need to buy an OBD dongle or wear a Galaxy Watch to use it. Once you set it up, Driving Report starts recording automatically the moment your phone connects to your car's Bluetooth. And when the trip ends, you get a notification on your Samsung phone with the summary. In addition, you get a weekly report every Sunday.

By the way, when the feature was leaked first in May 2026, it was called "Driving Insights". Later, it arrived with the One UI 9 beta for the Galaxy S26 series and Samsung renamed it to Driving Report with One UI 9 Beta 2.

Note that Driving Report is not part of Galaxy AI on the stable build, even though the early leak hinted at AI-written driving insight. If you want to explore everything else Samsung introduced with the One UI 9 update, go ahead and check out our list of the best One UI 9 features.

Which Samsung Phones Support Driving Report?

Samsung has not published an official list of devices that get Driving Report. What we do know is that it requires the One UI 9 update based on Android 17. To check whether your phone is ready to get the update, go through our One UI 9 eligible devices list. Here are the supported devices so far.

  • Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra
  • Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8
  • Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S24 series

How to Enable Driving Report on Your Samsung Phone

Before you begin, make sure your Samsung phone is running One UI 9. You can check for the update by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. Apart from that, your car must be paired with the phone via Bluetooth. Now, here are the steps to follow.

  1. First off, open the Settings app and tap on Connected devices.
  2. Now, scroll down and tap on Driving report. You will find it right above the Android Auto option.

And that's it. From now on, Driving Report will start recording your trip once the phone connects to your car. There is nothing to start manually. Once you finish a drive, Driving Report sends you a notification with the trip summary. You can also go to Settings > Connected devices > Driving report and you will see the trip history there.
