Samsung has already opened the One UI 9 Beta program for the Galaxy S26 series in several regions. Now, we have the official One UI 9 changelog listing out all the new improvements and changes coming with Samsung's next update and it is not as big as we expected it to be.

Everything Included in One UI 9 Changelog

Samsung is testing One UI 9.0 Beta for the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra. Now, users who have started to receive the update have shared the One UI 9 changelog for what's new in the beta. We're getting our info from folks over at SamMobile who have reported that the update size is 3.6 GB and it looks like the changelog does not feature as many major changes.

Here's everything included in the One UI 9.0 changelog:

  • More customisations in quick settings: One UI 9 gives more control to customise and resize the brightness, volume and media panel. Users can also seperate the sound button from volume bar.
  • Changes in Samsung DeX: Desktop previews lets users switch apps with a single tap, and they are available at the top of the screen. The update has also made it easier to move an app window from one desktop to another using the menu at the top of the window.
  • New Tape feature in Samsung Notes: Users can cover part of their notes with tape and reveal them as necessary.
  • More options in Game Booster: Users can now access screen resolution and screenshot format directly from Game Booster panel.
  • Location access pointer: Users will now notice a blue indicator which will appear everytime an app access location data. Users can tap the indicator to find out which app it is.
  • Text spotlight: The update will allow users to tap on any text to enlarge it and show it in its seperate window. Users can also adjust its font size, colours and other settings.
  • Accessibility settings shortcut in keyboard: Physical keyboard users can directly jump into Accessibility settings without having to touch the screen.
  • Use keyboard for mouse interactions: New options are available for mouse interactions in keyboards including speed and acceleration control. Users can also use number pad to point and click.
  • Replace swipe with single tap: New Swipe with single tap option available in Dexterity and interaction menu.
  • Select to speak: Select an item on screen and hear it described out loud without needing to enable Talkback.
  • Unified Talkback features: Google and Samsung have joined forces to provide a unified Talkback experience with new updates arriving via the Play Store.

Most of them seem like accessibility changes and under-the-hood improvements. We also know that it will come with some of the new Android 17 features. However, there is no mention of the vibrant and refreshed media player or the Tap to Share feature that we learned about in earlier One UI 9 leaks.

Samsung is likely reserving the best features for last, and they could arrive with later beta updates. But that is speculation on our part, and we will have to wait to find out what Samsung has in store for us whenever the One UI 9 update drops.
