The OnePlus 16 launch date in China is confirmed for October 12, 2026, bringing major upgrades to its display, performance and battery capacity. The OnePlus 16 will feature a 165 Hz system-wide refresh rate, which can go up to 185 Hz in supported games.

OnePlus has also confirmed native 185 FPS gaming support in select titles, alongside its new Fengchi Gaming Kernel and a dedicated three-chip gaming system. Under the hood, the OnePlus 16 will pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset.

It will also feature a massive 9,000mAh Glacier Battery, with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone will run ColorOS 17, based on Android 17, out of the box.

As for the cameras, the OnePlus 16 will feature a 200 MP primary sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera and a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera. It will also get a 50 MP selfie camera. Other highlights include IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and USB 3.2 Gen 1 connectivity.

The OnePlus 16 will launch in China first, and there is no official confirmation of its India launch at the time of writing. With the iQOO 16 India launch confirmed, we are certainly hopeful that OnePlus decides to bring its flagship to the country as well.

The RedMagic 12 Pro+ launch date in China is scheduled for October 15, 2026. As expected, the smartphone will prioritise gaming performance and thermal management, while bringing some notable design refinements over its predecessor.

The RedMagic 12 Pro+ will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. It will feature an uninterrupted full-screen display with the brand's ninth-generation under-display selfie camera technology.

RedMagic has also reduced the display bezels to just 0.96mm, down from 1.25mm on the previous generation. The phone will retain the brand's signature transparent design, with three colour options: Transparent Dark Night, Transparent Silver Wing and Transparent Ice Blue.

However, one notable design change is the completely flush rear camera module, which sits level with the back panel. The company has also teased a thinner, lighter and narrower design, along with improvements to its cooling system.

While RedMagic has not officially confirmed the complete specifications, leaks suggest the phone could pack an 8,400mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging support. We should learn more about its hardware, pricing and availability during the launch event.

Like the OnePlus 16, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ is confirmed for China, with global availability details yet to be announced.

The week of October 12 to October 18 will see two performance-focused flagship smartphones make their debut in China. The OnePlus 16 aims to deliver a premium all-round experience with its high-refresh-rate display, massive battery and upgraded cameras.

Meanwhile, the RedMagic 12 Pro+ will cater to gamers with its powerful chipset, full-screen design and dedicated cooling hardware.

We will have to wait for the launch events to learn their official pricing and whether these upcoming smartphones will make their way to India. Stay tuned for more updates.
