Apple revamped its budget iPhone series in 2025 with the launch of the iPhone 16e. Now, the next model in line is the iPhone 17e and leaks and rumours about the upcoming phone are pouring in abundance. The latest one hints at the display details of the next budget iPhone.
Apple preps iPhone 17e with thin bezels and BOE display
According to South Korean media The Elec, Apple is reportedly planning to give the majority of iPhone 17e display panel orders to BOE. While Samsung Display and LG Display will also be involved in the display-making process of the next budget iPhone, BOE will still have the largest volume to deliver.

For context, the iPhone 16e mostly got its OLED panel from Samsung Display and LG Display. BOE was not involved back then. So, it is interesting to know that not only will BOE provide display for the 17e, it will also dethrone Samsung Display to become the biggest supplier.
As for the display panel itself, The Elec reports that there are no changes to that. The 17e is expected to bring the same 6.1-inch 60 Hz OLED panel as the 16e. However, the bezels on the upcoming phone could be trimmed down a bit. Also, rumours of iPhone 17e with Dynamic Island have been floating around for quite some time.

Speaking of other details, we recently heard that the iPhone 17e will feature the A19 processor, the same one that's fitted inside the newly launched iPhone 17. However, it could miss out on one GPU core to make it cost-effective.
Aside from that, the smartphone is expected to retail the same 48 MP main camera and the 12 MP selfie shooter with Face ID support. Also, expect the phone to ship with iOS 26, an Action Button and Ceramic Shield protection.
That said, at the time of writing, none of the mentioned details have been made official. So, take them with a pinch of salt. With the iPhone 17e launch expected to take place in the first half of 2026, expect to see more details surface soon.
