It has only been a week since Apple unveiled its new iPhone 17 lineup with a day to go until pre-orders start shipping. But like clockwork, we're now starting to hear the first set of rumours about next year's iPhone 18 Pro.
Prolific leaker Digital Chat Station has now shared early bits of information on the iPhone 18 Pro. While major parts of the iPhone 18 Pro design will remain identical to the iPhone 17 Pro, the upcoming model is touted to feature a back glass that's a "little transparent".
The leaker claims that the transparent layer will only apply to the Ceramic Shield portion of the back. This could mean that the iPhone 18 Pro's back glass may give a glimpse of the rectangular MagSafe panel.
Other than that, DCS notes that the iPhone 18 Pro could feature the same camera bar at the top that Apple referred to as the "plateau" during its keynote. Both the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to retain the 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch displays respectively from the current iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The source mentions a "stainless steel" hot plate for vapour chamber cooling. We're not sure whether that's new. That's because we do not know what kind of materials are used in the iPhone 17 Pro models' vapour cooling system, since there's still time before we see a teardown of the phones.
With over a year to go until the iPhone 18 series show up, we recommend taking this rumour with a grain of salt. If this piece of rumour is to be believed, it'll be interesting to see a see-through phone from Apple, something we've only expected from Nothing phones so far.
And if Apple, known for its minimal and straightforward design, is taking cues, who knows, we may see more Android phones adopt them by next year.
