Apple is expanding its health-focused ecosystem with new features for the Apple Watch and AirPods Pro. These new features bring advanced sleep and hearing tools to users in India starting today.
Apple Health Features in India: What's New on Apple Watch and AirPods Pro
One of the highlights of the rollout is sleep apnoea notifications on Apple Watch, which use Apple's Breathing Disturbances metric to detect patterns that may indicate moderate-to-severe sleep apnoea.
The feature is designed to alert users if signs of the condition appear over time, potentially helping identify a disorder that often goes undiagnosed for years. Apple says the feature builds on its existing sleep-tracking suite, which already monitors metrics such as heart rate and respiratory rate overnight.

Additionally, Apple is bringing a major health upgrade to AirPods Pro, adding a clinically validated Hearing Test that users can take from home using compatible Apple devices. The feature is meant to help users assess their hearing levels without visiting a clinic.
Moreover, AirPods Pro are gaining a Hearing Aid feature for users with mild to moderate hearing loss, allowing the earbuds to function as software-powered hearing assistance devices.

Apple says the feature is designed to make hearing support more accessible and affordable, while also introducing tools like Loud Sound Reduction to help protect hearing in everyday use.
At Apple, we believe technology should empower people to take control of their health, and that starts with giving users tools to detect conditions they may not even know they have. From sleep apnoea notifications on Apple Watch to a hearing test with AirPods Pro, we’re excited to bring these meaningful capabilities to our users in India.

With these updates, Apple is continuing to make its wearables more than just consumer gadgets. This update increasingly turns the Apple Watch and AirPods Pro into personal health tools focused on early detection, monitoring and assistance for conditions that already affect billions globally.
Most importantly, the Cupertino giant says these health experiences are built with privacy protections in mind, keeping user data secure while delivering insights directly on Apple devices.
