While Android 15 was supposed to be the end of the life cycle for the Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices, Google was generous enough to provide two years of extension to all of them. This means that while the Google Pixel 6 series is eligible for Android 17, it's the last major update for the device.
While Android 17 is available to a long list of Pixel phones, older models like the Pixel 5 and below don't make the cut.
When Will Your Pixel Phone Get Android 17
A couple of months after the Android 17 Beta 4, Google officially rolled out the official build of Android 17 on June 16, 2026. As always, Pixel smartphones are the first to receive it. This will be followed by phones from other brands like Samsung, OnePlus, Nothing, Oppo and Vivo.
That covers every Android 17 eligible Pixel phone. From the Pixel 6 all the way to the Pixel 10 series, Google has ensured a wide range of devices is receiving the update. If your Pixel is on the eligible list, the stable update should be available to you pretty soon. For those on older devices like the Pixel 5a and below, it may be time to start thinking about an upgrade to get back into the Android update cycle.
