HMD Vibe 2 5G First Look Is Dropping This Week

The HMD Vibe 2 5G India launch is right around the corner and it will land as successor to last year's HMD Vibe. Just like its predecessor, the Vibe 2 is expected to offer a clean software experience, great battery endurance and a rugged design without burning a hole in buyers' pockets. Now, we know when the brand will give us a good look at the HMD Vibe 2 design.

HMD Vibe 2 Will Be Sold in India via Flipkart

HMD's official X account shared a brand new teaser of the HMD Vibe 2 5G smartphone. The teaser also reveals that the smartphone's first look will be revealed on May 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM. While the teaser doesn't reveal the design or key specifications of the phone, it shows a dark outline of the phone.

HMD has also pushed an HMD Vibe 2 5G microsite on Flipkart, and it gives us a peek into the front of the smartphone and its punch hole display. The bezels appear to be quite slim for a budget smartphone. The rest of the page goes through HMD's history, before highlighting a 5% cashback on the phone on the Flipkart SBI Credit Card.

As for the specifications, not much is known yet, but rumours point to the phone boasting a 6.75-inch HD+ 90 Hz LCD panel, a dual-camera setup with a 50 MP main and 2 MP depth sensor, alongside a 5 MP front camera and a 5,000mAh battery fueling the internals with 10W charging.

While the chipset details are currently unknown, it's expected to be powered by a 5G processor just like its predecessor. Although there have been rumours suggesting HMD could also launch a 4G variant of the same, powered by Unisoc T7200 processor. Additionally, the smartphone could arrive in Black and White colours.

Considering the HMD Vibe 5G was one of the phones under Rs 10,000, we expect its successor to arrive in a similar price range. The 4G variant could cost even less, but it has not yet been confirmed. With only two days to go before the design unveiling, more information about the HMD Vibe 2 should be revealed soon. Until then, stay tuned.
