Honor's iPhone Air competitor, the Magic 8 Pro Air, is already gaining a lot of traction online. The smartphone is set to debut soon and China and its hardware looks promising. Now, a new leak has outed the alleged camera details of the phone, revealing its imaging capabilities.
Honor Magic 8 Pro Air to come with flagship OmniVision cameras
Tipster Teme on X has shared some of the key specifications of the upcoming Honor Magic 8 Pro Air smartphone. While the post contains the already known display, processor, and other details, this is the first time the camera specifications of the phone have been revealed. It looks like Honor is going all in with its take on thin and light smartphones.

It alleges a triple rear camera setup fitted with a 50 MP OmniVision OV50Q main camera sensor with OIS, a 50 MP OmniVision OV50M 112° ultra-wide angle lens and a 64 MP OmniVision OV64B 3.2x telephoto camera. Even the selfie camera is said to have a 50 MP OmniVision lens.
If true, this will indeed surpass the existing thin phones in the market in terms of camera capabilities. Honor is seemingly using the same main sensor as that of the Honor Magic 8 Pro, which launched last year. Even the ultra-wide and telephoto cameras are the same in terms of megapixel count.

As for the other details, the post has reiterated what we learnt a while back when the Honor Magic 8 Pro Air was officially teased. It is going to become the first compact thin and light phone, a segment in its own. A thin 6.1mm chassis will house a 6.31-inch flat 1.5k 120 Hz LTPO OLED display.
It will ship with the flagship Dimensity 9500 processor and MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 underneath. There will still be a 5,500mAh battery inside with 80W fast USB-C charging support. To round it all up, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner is also said to make its way via the new phone. Expect it to weigh just around the 158 grams ballpark.
That said, Honor Magic 8 Pro Air will officially debut on January 19, 2026. So, there is roughly a week for more key details of the phone to emerge. So, keep an eye out at Beebom Gadgets as we keep you posted on the latest updates.
