The Honor Magic 9 key specifications were leaked a while back and while we got to know a lot of details, its performance details were under wraps. Well, thanks to a new Honor Magic 9 leak, we now know which processor will power the upcoming phone.
Honor Magic 9 Could Be Powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
Reliable tipster Digital Chat Station took to his official Weibo account to reveal that the Honor Magic 9 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. Unfortunately, that's not an upgrade and it's the same chipset that powers its predecessor, the Honor Magic 9.

Moreover, it goes against previous reports of the phone being powered by the upcoming 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro processor. Considering the RAM crisis, it's understandable why the brand could be deciding to stick to the same chipset, especially since the
Apart from this, the leaker previously revealed that the phone will arrive with a compact 6.36-inch flat display. The phone has also been tipped to flaunt a 200 MP primary rear camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 64 MP periscope telephoto lens as well.
Now, while we knew that the periscope telephoto would have a 1/2-inch sensor, the new leak suggests it could be an OmniVision OV64D sensor. As per the latest leak, the phone will also arrive with an IP68 + IP69 rating.
Fueling it all is said to be a massive 8,000mAh battery, which is commendable for a phone of this size. Apart from this, the Honor Magic 9 is said to arrive with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for security.
Since the Honor Magic 8 series launched in China back in October 2025, we may still have some time left before the Magic 9 series lands. So, expect more details to surface in the coming weeks and months.
