Alongside the Honor Play 80 Pro in China, Honor has also launched an affordable and toned-down option, the Honor Play 80. It is the latest member of the "Play" portfolio of smartphones and brings some noteworthy features like a Dimensity processor, fast LCD display, sizable battery, multiple RAM and storage models and more.
Honor Play 80 Specifications and Features
Kicking things off with the display, the Honor Play 80 features a big 6.75-inch TFT LCD display with a 90 Hz refresh rate and HD+ resolution and support for 16.7 million colours. The panel also supports eye care protection and is Blue Light certified.
Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by the mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset with up to 8 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of storage. There is also support for virtual RAM expansion of up to 8 GB and SD card memory expansion of up to 1 TB.
On the software side, the smartphone ships with MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15. It joins the ranks of budget Honor phones, which do not feature the Android 16 update out of the box. In terms of battery, the smartphone brings a respectable 5,300mAh capacity to the table. However, charging is slow at 15W.

Camera-wise, Honor Play 80 offers a single rear camera with a 13 MP main sensor and two decorative circular cutouts. It also features a 5 MP selfie shooter at the front.
Other than that, the smartphone brings a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a bottom-firing speaker, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, dual SIM 5G, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS and a USB-C 2.0 port.
As for the pricing, Honor has not disclosed that information yet. However, we know that the phone will come in four RAM and storage options - 4 GB + 128 GB, 6 GB + 128 GB, 6 GB + 256 GB and 8 GB + 256 GB. It will be sold in Lake Blue, Azure Sky and Inky Black Rock colourways.
