Summary
- Infinix has confirmed Direct-to-Call technology Satellite Communication support for Note 60 series.
- Users will be able to place high-definition voice calls and two-way SMS with 4 Kbps transmission speed.
- The Note 60 series will be able to intelligently switch between satellite and roaming networks.
The CES 2026 event is in full swing and brands are busy showcasing their latest tech innovations. Seizing the opportunity, Infinix has also decided to announce that the upcoming Note 60 series phones will become the first consumer device to integrate a global satellite communication solution.
Infinix Note 60 will always stay connected, no matter what
To achieve this feat, Infinix will leverage Space-Air-Ground Integrated Network to bring Satellite Communication to the Note 60 lineup. This is said to boost communication reliability and unlock at least two-thirds of the Earth’s surface for ground-to-sky communication. An efficient satellite modem will be integrated with the 5G modem inside the smartphone to enable this tech.

This means that the tech will end the dependency on traditional satellite communication services, which are primarily restricted to the North American region. Infinix Note 60 will be able to always connect to a wireless communication service from anywhere in the world.
Currently, it can only support transmission speed of 4 Kbps. However, the modem can still support high-definition voice calls and two-way SMS. It can even prompt the smartphone to intelligently switch between satellite and roaming network for always-on connectivity even at "dead zones".

That said, at its CES booth, Infinix had a working demo of the global satellite communication solution in action. It showcased how the Infinix Note 60 will be able to send and receive texts, place calls and even use GPS navigation. At the time of writing, there is no word as to when the Note 60 series will go official. It will first arrive in the USA and will then ship to other regions.
