Infinix has officially annouced its next OS skin, XOS for India. The brand is late to the party as most of the major OEMs have already shipped their Android 16-based skins. However, it promises to bring a refined experience with "AI-driven productivity tools, hardware-aware battery management, resilient touch systems, and pro-grade gaming technologies".
Infinix XOS16 is all about customisations and AI integration
With the latest update, Infinix phones have gained a revamped user interface with new personalisation options, smoother animations and updated iconography. It now lets users create and set AI-generated wallpapers and also adds Depth Effect to the lockscreen clock. There are also the options to add anime-style designs, doodles and portrait effects.

On the productivity side, XOS16 brings several new AI features and tools. It makes use of Infinix's Folax AI to achieve this. There is a new One-Tap FlashMemo option which utilises the dedicated AI button on Infinix phones to perform quick actions like note-taking, placing calls and sending messages. It supports several quick action triggers.
There is also a new Ask Folax and Mind Hub feature, which helps users organise ideas, refer to AI-based writing suggestions and more with a quick tap. It performs much like Essential Space and Mind Space on Nothing and OnePlus smartphones. Also, a new quick AI panel helps users track AI usage patterns over time.

Infinix claims that XOS16 is designed for gamers. To support this, the Android 16-based update has added gaming tools like frame interpolation for smoother visuals and AI-based enhancements for control and immersion. There are also several in-game options like voice commands, voice changer and a dedicated game space called Gameshift.
In terms of connectivity, there is a new Touch Transfer feature which uses the phone's NFC chip to transfer photos and files to iPhones. It works like AirDrop but relies on NFC and a companion app. Infinix has also improved cross-device connectivity for a connected ecosystem.

Aside from that, there are several other nifty features added to XOS16. A dedicated Video Battery Saver Mode is designed to help users stream YouTube videos without a massive battery drain. With Bypass Charging support and Battery Self Repair, XOS 16 can improve battery longevity and reduce heat generation.
As for availability, Infinix has confirmed that XOS16 will debut in India with their upcoming smartphone launch. Although the brand has not mentioned the specific model or series, early rumours point to the Note 60 series, which recently showed up in Carlcare India website, spilling RAM and storage details.
