Apple released the first iOS 27 Developer Beta earlier this month with most of the features that it announced at WWDC 26. Fast forward, iPhone users enrolled on the Beta are now getting the iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 update with a host of fixes and improvements.
iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 Fixes Battery Issues
The second iOS 27 developer beta focuses largely on stability, addressing several bugs reported in the first beta, while also introducing a handful of quality-of-life improvements. One of the biggest fixes resolves an issue where iPhones with a completely drained battery failed to boot after being charged. Apple has also fixed the broken photo cropping tool in the native Photos app.

There are improvements to Siri AI as well, including faster response times and greater reliability. Speaking of which, Apple has added a Write with Siri button above the keyboard for easier access.
While the update includes many more fixes and API improvements for developers, Apple also notes a host of known issues. Starting with the Camera app, where the Portrait blur effect is known to render incorrectly for photos. There are issues with CarPlay connectivity where users are facing connection drops.
A few Reddit users have also reported issues with the Apple keyboard, in which the automatic caps lock capitalises the second letter of a sentence when typed too quickly. The iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 update also brings a few fixes for Bluetooth connectivity issues.
All in all, the iOS 27 Developer Beta 2 update should make the overall experience on Apple iPhones feel a bit smoother with far fewer crashes, lags and issues.
Users on iOS 27 eligible devices can head over to Settings -> General -> Software Update -> Beta Updates -> Choose iOS 27 Developer Beta.
With the second beta finally out, we should see one last Developer Beta in July before Apple moves to Public Beta in August, if everything goes right. Those who would like to install iOS 27 Developer Beta can do so quite easily by following the linked guide. More information about the upcoming major iOS 27 changes should drop soon, so stay tuned.
