JBL has expanded its audio portfolio in India with the launch of the JBL Live 780NC and Live 680NC over-ear headphones in India. Both share almost identical specs and the main difference between them is the design, fit and comfort. Rest both bring several premium features like Spatial Audio, ANC and impressive battery backup.

JBL Live 780NC and Live 680NC Specifications and Features

Starting with the design, as already mentioned, the key difference between the Live 780NC and the Live 680NC is in their design. Since the Live 680NC is the more affordable option, it adopts an on-ear design which doesn't cover the entire ear to create a surrounding seal. It is ideal for short-duration usage and limits higher noise cancellation. The overall build of the headphone is also plastic.

As for the Live 780NC, it is more premium with an over-ear design, similar to what we have seen with the likes of the Vivo over-ear headphones and the JBL Tour One M3. It also comes with soft cushion memory foam earcups and a metal adjustable headband slider.

Aside from that, both bring an identical listening experience with all the features you would expect out of premium JBL headphones. Both are equipped with 40 mm dynamic drivers and bring JBL Spatial Sound 3.0 experience for a 360° sound stage.

They also allow granular customisation with the brand's proprietary Personi-Fi 3.0 tool, which lets users fine-tune the audio output based on hearing preferences. Both of them feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with adaptive modes for focus, commute, music and workout. JBL is using its True Adaptive Noise Cancelling 2.0 and a six-microphone setup to block as much background noise during audio listening as well as while taking calls.

As for battery life, both headphones are rated to last for up to 80 hours on a single charge and with ANC off. However, with ANC, they can deliver 50 hours of continuous playback which is also pretty impressive. They also support quick charging and a 5 minute charge can deliver up to 4 hours of listening time.
