Lava has quietly expanded its budget smartphone lineup in India with the launch of the new Lava Smart 4. Positioned below the recently unveiled Lava Smart 4 Plus, the new model trims down a few specifications to keep costs in check amid the ongoing RAM crisis.
Lava Smart 4 Specifications and Features
The Lava Smart 4 features a 6.56-inch IPS LCD display with an HD (1210 x 540 pixels) resolution, 16.7 million colours support and 201 PPI. There's also a single bottom-firing speaker to make use of when streaming content. As an added convenience, users can also take advantage of the 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the phone is powered by the budget Unisoc 9863A processor, paired with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. There is also the option to expand the onboard storage by up to 32 GB via a microSD card.
On the software front, the Lava Smart 4 comes with Android 16 Go Edition with a relatively bloatware-free skin on top. However, there is no clear indication of any long-term software support from the brand.

The phone also features an 8 MP main rear camera with a secondary auxiliary lens. For selfies, there's a 5 MP shooter at the front.
Additionally, the Lava Smart 4 is equipped with a modest 5,000mAh battery capacity with 10W charging support.
As for the rest of the details, the phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, FM Radio, dual-SIM 4G support, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and a USB-C 2.0 port. The phone will be available in Ajanta Grey and Konark Gold colour options.
Sadly, the brand has not yet revealed the Lava Smart 4 price in India and availability details. We checked Amazon and Flipkart and the phone is not listed on those platforms either. This could mean that the Smart 4 is one of the many Lava phones which are exclusively sold offline.
