OnePlus is reportedly planning a massive photography upgrade for its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 16. The 50 MP periscope on the OnePlus 15, which, while it did the job, wasn't very impressive. But that could change with the OnePlus 16, as it could borrow the 200 MP periscope camera of its cousin brand's Oppo Find X9 Pro.
OnePlus 16 could feature 200 MP Samsung HP5 sensor
Tipster Gm on X suggests that the OnePlus 16 could get a 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor for its zoom lens. This 1/1.56-inch sensor features an f/2.1 aperture and a 70mm focal length, and is the same sensor found on the Oppo Find X9 Pro.

Notably, it could also double as a tele macro shooter, with a minimum focusing distance of just 10 cm. This also aligns with previous reports suggesting that the OnePlus 16 could receive a major camera upgrade. The OnePlus 16 might very well be the first OnePlus phone with dual 200 MP cameras.
Besides cameras, OnePlus Club shared a rather extensive list of key specifications. For starters, the OnePlus 16 could feature a 1.5K flat OLED display with up to 240Hz refresh rate. Powering the smartphone could be Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chipset which surfaced recently and could be accompanied by LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

Battery-wise, OnePlus could pack in a significant upgrade in capacity and charging speeds to 9,000mAh and 120W, alongside 50W wireless charging. Haptics are also expected to receive an upgrade with an O916T vibration motor. Besides, security could be handled by an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner 2.0.
OnePlus 16 is seemingly still in early development stages, so we advise you to take these leaked specifications with a grain of salt. As for the phone's potential launch timeline, we can expect a China launch by the end of 2026.
