Oppo is reportedly planning a major leap for its next Reno series. This time around, there will be an Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max that will reportedly dive deeper into flagship territory with an impressive camera setup, big battery and more.
Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max will not be just another mid-ranger
Looks like premium mid-ranger will actually be a thing, as a new report from Smartprix (in collaboration with tipster Yogesh Brar) hints at the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max setting itself apart from the crowd.
The Reno 15 series will reportedly include three models – Reno 15, Reno 15 Pro and Reno 15 Pro Max. Oppo taking the "Pro Max" branding will be a first, which is seemingly inspired by the likes of Apple and more recently, Xiaomi with its 17 Pro Max.
According to the publication, Oppo wants to deliver flagship-grade performance and imaging while keeping the pricing aggressive. As a result, at the heart of the Reno 15 Pro Max is expected to be a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor, which is the same processor that powers the Oppo Find X8.

Meanwhile, at the front, the smartphone is tipped to feature a 6.78-inch flat OLED display with 1.5K resolution and 120 Hz LTPO refresh rate. However, the biggest upgrade appears to be in the camera department, with the Reno 15 Pro Max reportedly packing a 200 MP Samsung HP5 primary rear sensor. In addition, this sensor is said to be accompanied by a 50 MP telephoto and a 50 MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, there could be another 50 MP shooter at the front.
The latest report also suggests the return of Oppo's proprietary Lumo imaging engine, introduced in the Reno 14 Pro. So, there could be quite a focus on computational photography and colour science.
Fueling it all is said to be a 6,500mAh battery on the Oppo Reno 15 Pro Max. The phone is also tipped to include Wi-Fi 7, an in-display fingerprint sensor and NFC. On the software front, it is expected to run on Android 16-based ColourOS 16. For those unaware, the ColorOS 16 release date is scheduled for October 15, 2025, so it's not long till we know how that will complement the upcoming Reno 15 series.
The report also reveals that Oppo is targeting an under Rs 55,000 price point for the Reno 15 Pro Max in India to make the phone aggressively enticing. The Reno 15 lineup is expected to go official in China later this year, followed by a global debut in early 2026.
