The Pixel Watch 5 has appeared on the Google Play Console, revealing its hardware changes, including a long-awaited memory boost.
9to5Google has spotted the Pixel Watch 5 in the Console database with codename "gordic", revealing that it relies on the Qualcomm SW5100 platform. For those unaware, it's the same Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 processor used in the Pixel Watch 4.
Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 is pretty much the W5 Gen 1 with Satellite connectivity. It boasts identical processing power to the W5 Gen 1 used in Pixel Watch 2, 3 and 4, so expect no improvements in the Pixel Watch 5's overall performance.
The main CPU configuration consists of 4x Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.7 GHz and an Adreno 702 GPU, alongside a Cortex-M55 co-processor and Satellite Connectivity with improved GPS. It's not beating the Snapdragon Wear Elite that the newly launched Galaxy Watch 9 leverages, with a more efficient 3 nm TSMC process.
That said, despite sticking to an old processor, the listing confirms that Pixel Watch 5 will ship with 3 GB of RAM, versus 2 GB in its predecessor. This could be to boost Gemini Intelligence capabilities on the watch, helping users get faster responses.
It appears to be a Bluetooth-only variant of the smartwatch, and the 426 x 426 pixel resolution points toward it being a smaller 41 mm variant. The SDK version is 37, which represents the latest Android 17-based Wear OS 7 update.
Finally, the Google Play Console listing also contains an exterior image of the Pixel Watch 5. Based on the same, the smartwatch's design will pretty much remain unchanged. This was also confirmed in previous Pixel Watch 5 leaked renders and via a Pixel Watch 5 unit found on the ocean floor.
With the Made by Google event date set for August 12, 2026, expect the Pixel Watch 5 to arrive in two sizes – 41 mm and 45 mm. It could also come in both Bluetooth-only and LTE variants.
That said, with the ongoing RAM crisis, the Pixel Watch 5 could get expensive, just like the newly launched Galaxy Watch 9, whose price was bumped by Rs 5,000 compared to its predecessor. More information about the Pixel Watch 5 should surface as we inch closer to the launch, so stay tuned.
