After launching the Realme 16 5G in Vietnam earlier this year, the brand confirmed the arrival of India's first phone with a dedicated selfie mirror. Now, we know exactly when that is happening and it is sooner than expected.
Realme 16 5G India Launch Set for Next Week
The official Realme India microsite has been updated to reflect April 2, 2026, as the official launch date of the Realme 16 5G. It will go live in the country at 12:00 PM IST and will be sold exclusively via Flipkart, Realme's e-store and select retail outlets.

Alongside the launch date confirmation, we also have some of the official specifications of the upcoming Realme phone.
Realme 16 5G Specifications (Confirmed)
For starters, the design of the phone has been inspired by the iPhone Air and Realme wants to position the 16 5G as a slim and lightweight smartphone. It is revealed to be only 8.1 mm thick and weighs just 183 grams.
This is impressive considering the fact that the phone houses a massive 7,000mAh battery capacity with support for 60W fast USB-C charging. At the front, the phone is getting a well-sized 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness value of 4,200 nits.

Since Realme is marketing the phone as a "Portrait Star", it has made sure the phone features good-quality cameras. The triple camera plateau at the back is home to a 50 MP Sony IMX852 main camera, a 2 MP portrait lens and a third undisclosed sensor. It is also where the Selfie Mirror rests. Speaking of selfies, there is also a 50 MP camera at the front.
Moreover, the Realme 16 5G will join the Realme 16 Pro and Realme 16 Pro+ with the brand's in-house LumaColor Image technology for improved colour accuracy and skin-tone rendering. It will also include several AI-backed camera features like Ai Pop Out, Ai Vibe Master Mode, Ai Light Me, Ai Style Me and more.
Aside from these, the microsite also confirms the presence of a 6,050 mm² vapour chamber cooling, IP69 rating for comprehensive durability, stereo speakers, and Realme UI 7.0 update based on Android 16. The smartphone will be backed by 3 years of software and 4 years of security updates.
That said, with almost every detail about the Realme 16 5G out, we expect the phone to start in India from under Rs 30,000. If we go by its Vietnamese variant, the Indian unit could also bring the Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset to the table. Thankfully, we will know for sure in the next few days.
