Summary
- Realme is now confirmed to operate as a sub-brand of Oppo.
- This strategic partnership will allow both brand to share resources and create a more unified identity.
- Realme as Oppo's sub-brand will continue to launch new products with the Realme logo exactly as before.
Back in May 2018, Realme was officially founded as a sub brand of Oppo. In the same year, it decided to separate from its parent company to operate as an independent smartphone brand. Now, after eight long years, it looks like Realme has yet again decided to operate under Oppo's wing.
Realme will now act as an Oppo sub-brand
In an exclusive report shared by Chinese publication Leifeng, Oppo has decided to absorb Realme as a sub-brand for better collaboration and resource advantages. It will join OnePlus, which is already a merged entity, to create a more unified marketing strategy.
As part of this strategic overhaul, Realme CEO Sky Li will continue to lead the sub-brand business. All future Realme products will launch as scheduled and will bear the Realme logo. So, from the consumer side of things, there are little to no changes.

However, this synergy could mean better customer support and after-sales services for Realme. Once the transition is complete, Realme is expected to fully integrate the after-sales network of Oppo. This could mean better overall support, wider customer reach and an improved experience.
At the time of writing, this reshuffle is only happening in China. In the rest of the markets, like India, there is no news about changes or revamp of local leadership. However, in the coming days, the effects of Realme being Oppo's sub-brand will reflect in every market where both these brands are present and thriving.
