Oppo's Find X9 series is rumoured to launch in the first half of 2026, and the Find X9 Ultra is one of the devices to look forward to. Being the camera behemoth the Find X8 Ultra was, we expect the Find X9 Ultra to achieve great things, but early rumours suggest Oppo might downgrade the primary camera on the Find X9 Ultra.
According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Oppo is looking at including a 200 MP sensor instead of a 1-inch sensor. The Chinese company is testing a four-camera setup with 200 MP main camera, two 50 MP periscope lenses and lastly a 50 MP ultrawide.

The periscope cameras could use a larger 1/1.3-inch sensor, capable of focal length adjustments. It appears that Oppo is still testing this setup, so we'd suggest you hold your horses. Previous leaks pointed toward Oppo swapping one of the 50 MP periscopes with a 200 MP periscope.
Lastly, "SM8850" means the Find X9 Ultra will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 SoC. The SoC is stated to launch in late September and is expected to bring massive performance gains, hitting a score of 3.8 million in AnTuTu.
While the standard Find X9, the X9 Plus, and X9 Pro might come later this year, the X9 Ultra could launch in April or earlier next year, just like the Find X8 Ultra. The non-Ultra variants are expected to settle for MediaTek's Dimensity 9500 SoC.
