Redmi’s latest 5G phone, the Redmi 17, has launched in India with a 7,500mAh battery and a 120 Hz display. The new Redmi 17 5G also brings a newer Snapdragon chipset and HyperOS 3, starting under Rs 25,000.
Redmi 17 5G Specifications and Features
The brand-new Redmi 17 5G features a 6.9-inch 120 Hz LCD display with HD+ (1600 x 720) resolution, a 240 Hz Touch Sampling rate and up to 825 nits of high brightness. The panel is protected by Gorilla Glass 7i.
For performance, the phone relies on the fairly recent Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chipset and is paired with up to 6 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 128 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Redmi 17 5G ships with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 out of the box.

In terms of battery, the Redmi 17 5G packs a massive 7,500mAh cell capacity, making it one of the few large-battery Xiaomi phones and Redmi phones in the country. The phone also gets 45W fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging support.
As for cameras, the Redmi 17 5G gets a 50 MP main sensor and a secondary lens, paired with an RGB notification LED ring light. Selfies are handled by an 8 MP shooter.
Rest, the phone offers a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a single bottom-firing speaker, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-SIM 5G, GPS and a USB-C 2.0 port. Redmi 17 5G comes with an IP64 rating.

The Redmi 17 5G price in India starts at Rs 23,999 for the 6 GB + 128 GB model. There is also an 8 GB + 128 GB option, but Xiaomi has not shared its pricing yet.
