Samsung's next-generation tracker arrived in the US and South Korea last month, and it's now headed to Indian shores. Samsung India has officially confirmed the SmartTag 3's India launch timeline, which is set for early next year.
Samsung India executive Daill Kim has confirmed via LinkedIn that the SmartTag 3 will arrive in India sometime in January 2027. While the specific launch date remains unannounced, this leaves a roughly three-month wait for interested customers.

For those unaware, the Galaxy SmartTag 3 launched earlier this month brings significant upgrades from its predecessor across the board. For starters, it delivers a smaller footprint and a lighter profile, making it easier to attach and carry.
Additionally, one of the headline features of the new GalaxyTag is support for iOS devices via the SmartThings app. Weirdly, while Samsung initially promised wider support for Android devices, it later backtracked on its claim. This means SmartTag 3 only works with Galaxy smartphones and iPhones.

Samsung promises up to 550 days of battery life and a user-swappable CR2032 battery. The tracker comes with Ultra wideband tracking, Bluetooth LE, and is powered by Bluetooth 6.0 within a 60 metre range.
While official India pricing hasn't been revealed yet, the SmartTag 3 is expected to cost the same as its predecessor in India, which launched for Rs 2,799. More information should be revealed as we inch closer to the January 2027 launch timeline, so stay tuned.
