The Vivo X Fold 5 has been garnering some buzz lately ahead of its scheduled launch on June 25, 2025. The brand has also chimed in on the hype train by slowly revealing some of the key specifications of the device. One such noteworthy reveal comes in the form of the X Fold 5's battery capacity.
Huang Tao, Product President at Vivo, took to his official Weibo handle to confirm that the Vivo X Fold 5 will pack a 6,000mAh battery. This makes it the biggest battery we have seen on a foldable so far. For context, last year's Vivo X Fold 3 launched in China with a 5,500mAh battery.

And this will be possible thanks to the recently popularised Silicon Carbon battery tech. Vivo is calling this the "Blue Ocean" battery. As a result, even at 6,000mAh, the Vivo X Fold 5 will not significantly add bulk and weight to the device. It will reportedly be only 9.3mm thick when folded and 4.3mm when unfolded. Also, at an expected 209 grams, it will, at launch, become the lightest book-style foldable.
Further, the brand also confirmed seamless integration with Apple's devices and services like AirPods, Apple Watch and iCloud, making the foldable more versatile.

As for the other specs, the X Fold 5 is expected to feature an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with a speculated peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. The cover display might use a 6.53-inch AMOLED panel.
Under the hood, the Snapdragon 8 Elite will likely power the device and will support up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. The foldable is confirmed to launch in White, Green, and Titanium colourways.
With the book-style foldable's China launch date set for June 25, 2025, at 7:00 PM CST (or 5:30 AM IST), the wait is almost over. Besides, one can expect a global and India launch soon after that.
With that said it will be interesting to see how the Vivo X Fold 5 will fare against the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, which is also reportedly launching next month.
