Meta held its global Conversations conference in Miami on July 1, 2025. Among the flurry of announcements, the new feature upgrades that are coming to WhatsApp Business grabbed our attention. 

Starting with Advertisement Campaigns, in an official blog post, WhatsApp announced a new centralised Ads Manager dashboard for WhatsApp Business. This brings the platform under Meta's broader ads ecosystem that supports Facebook and Instagram campaigns. 

From the ad creation process to managing marketing strategies like creatives, setup flows, and budget allocations, businesses can do it all from the new dashboard itself.

Additionally, the same Ads Manager dashboard will soon let businesses run ads on WhatsApp statuses as the platform will now show advertisements to its users via the platform. Apart from this, businesses will be able to upload their subscriber list to the platform and "manually select marketing messages as an additional placement." Or they can leverage Advantage+ AI to "optimize budgets across placements to maximize performance."

This is part of Meta's existing Business AI Tools and will let marketplace vendors handle large chat volumes effectively. Using these AI tools, businesses will be able to:

  • Deliver personalised product recommendations to customers.
  • Facilitate website-based purchases
  • Create an end-to-end chat support system
  • Offer business updates within the chat interface itself.

"In the coming weeks," businesses on WhatsApp Business will be able to provide VOIP (voice over internet) services to their customers in addition to the existing chat support. This means that apart from chats, customers can now directly get on one-to-one calls with businesses. This will help customers call businesses directly and connect with a customer support agent for quicker resolutions.

WhatsApp is also looking to bring voice notes and video calling capabilities to WhatsApp Business via a future update, along with AI-enabled voice support. 

With that said, these new features are gradually rolling out to every WhatsApp Business user on Android and iOS.
