A highly anticipated WhatsApp feature could soon knock on the doors of WhatsApp users on Android. The platform is testing a redesigned message menu on WhatsApp for Android to make it easier for users to use the overflow options found in the top toolbar, and it's now rolling out to a host of beta testers.
WhatsApp's Android App Will Soon Get a Revamped Message Context Menu
Spotted first by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp for Android is now rolling out the revamped message context menu on Android to select beta users on version 2.26.23.8. The update phases out the older overflow options that appeared on top of the application window for a cleaner context menu.

The platform now adds a floating menu similar to the one found on iOS, making features like Reply, Forward, Copy, Delete, Info and Pin handy for users. It not only brings cohesiveness to the app but also adds to improving the one-handed usability of the app, especially for those who use taller smartphones.
To bring up the new user interface, all a user needs to do is long-press a message. Rather than forcing attention at the top, users get a clean contextual menu next to the message. According to WABetaInfo, the context menu is systematically reorganised based on what options are used more often.
Meanwhile, the less frequently used options are bundled together under a dedicated "More" section and are tucked neatly under the arrow. This eliminated visual distraction, allowing users to scan all around the display to execute a basic reply or forward task.
To reiterate, WhatsApp's new Context Menu for Android is only available for a handful of beta users at the moment. While there's no specific timeline for the stable public release, the feature should roll out to the masses in the span of the next few months.
The WhatsApp team has been hard at work introducing new features. WhatsApp's dedicated Contacts Hub is coming soon alongside a new Scam Alert feature that could protect users from potential spam calls and messages. Most of these features are still under development, though, so stay tuned.
