Just a month ago, the Poco X8 Pro Max launched with a mammoth 9,000mAh battery capacity. Now, it seems like Xiaomi is looking to push the limits even further, as according to some newly surfaced rumours, its next mid-range smartphone could debut with a 10,000mAh battery.
Xiaomi's Upcoming Phone Will Have a 10,000mAh Battery
Well-known leaker, @DigitalChatStation, shared this detail on Weibo. The leak mentions, "mid-range sub-line" device will be the first to feature a 10000mAh battery. This suggests that it could be a Redmi smartphone, as the sub-brand is quite popular when it comes to introducing high-end specs on its mid-range devices.

This will put it straight up against the likes of the Realme P4 Power and the Realme Narzo Power. Two mid-range devices from the competing brand, which also come with a 10,000mAh silicon-carbon battery.
However, the leak also suggests that the phone will have 100W charging, a 200 MP main camera, a metal frame, an optical in-display fingerprint scanner, a 1.5K LTPS AMOLED display, which could likely be a flat panel, and a mid-range MediaTek Dimensity chipset. This will position the device as a high-end battery-oriented smartphone from the company.
Other Phone Makers are Joining the 10,000mAh Battery Race
Xiaomi is not the only one working on a 10,000mAh battery phone, as another leak by Digital Chat Station suggests that brands like Vivo and iQOO are also planning to release devices with the same capacity. The upcoming Honor X80 is also rumoured to feature the massive 10,000mAh battery and the series will feature a 1.5k 6.81-inch LTPS panel along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 series chipset.
So it seems like other phone makers are also joining the race for the best battery backup phone, and 10,000mAh could become the norm by the end of 2026.
