Whether you need to clean up your call record or don't want anyone else snooping through your call log, there can be many reasons to delete your call history. But the real question is, how do you do it? Well, iOS offers multiple ways to help you delete a single call or the entire call log. In this guide, we walk you through every method on how to delete your call history on iPhone with step-by-step instructions.
Where to Access Call History on iPhone?
You can easily find your entire call history from the Phone app on your iPhone. Just open the app, tap on Recents, and you should see a list of recent calls, including incoming, outgoing, and missed calls. You’ll also see the date the call took place and how long it lasted. You can also manage or deactivate voicemails on your iPhone from the Phone app as well.
Another way to check your call history is through your iCloud account if the sync for Phone and FaceTime is enabled. Just head to Settings > your Apple account name > Saved to iCloud.
How to Delete Call History on iPhone
Now that we have briefly touched upon where you can find your call history, let's take a look at how you can delete it. I have made sure to include relevant methods that work for all Apple iPhones in this guide. With that said, let's take a look at the methods.
Delete a Single Call Entry from Call History
If you only want to remove one specific call from your recent calls list, then the swipe-to-delete method is the quickest way to do it. It works on all iPhones, even the newer iPhone 17 with iOS 26.
- Open the Phone app on your iPhone and tap on the Recents tab from the bottom.
- Find the call entry you want to delete from your call history.
- Swipe left on this call entry and tap on Delete.

Delete Missed Calls from Call History
You can also filter your missed calls separately and delete them without affecting the rest of your iPhone call history. If you want to remove just one or two missed calls rather than all of them, you can use the swipe left method.
- Open the Phone app on your iPhone and tap on the Recents tab from the bottom.
- Here, tap on the Missed tab at the top to filter only missed calls.
- Now, press Edit at the top left and then tap on Select.

- Here, tap Clear in the top right corner.
- Select Clear All Recents on the confirmation prompt.

Delete Entire Call History on iPhone
If you want to start fresh and delete your entire call history on iPhone in one go, iOS lets you do that in just a few taps. Keep in mind that if you have iCloud sync enabled, this will clear the call log across all Apple devices signed into the same Apple account.
- Open the Phone app on your iPhone and tap on the Recents tab from the bottom.
- Here, tap on Edit at the top left.

- From the dropdown menu, tap on Select.
- Then hit Clear at the top right and select Clear All Recents to confirm.

How to Delete FaceTime Call History on iPhone
FaceTime calls show up separately in the FaceTime app and will not always be cleared when you delete your regular call history from the Phone app.
Delete a Single FaceTime Call Entry
Here is how to remove a specific call entry from the call history on FaceTime:
- Open the FaceTime app on your iPhone.
- Find the FaceTime call you want to remove.
- Now, long-press this call entry and tap on Delete.

Delete All FaceTime Call History
Here is how to remove all entries from FaceTime's call history:
- Open the FaceTime app on your iPhone and tap on Edit at the top left.
- Here, tap on Select to enter selection mode.

- Now, tap on the tick sign at the top left to select your entire call history and then hit Delete from the bottom.

How to Delete Call History on iPhone from iCloud
iCloud does not offer a dedicated method to delete your call history on an iPhone. However, it does sync your call log across all Apple devices signed into the same Apple account. This means that when you clear your call log using the method above, it will automatically delete it from the iCloud storage as well.
That said, if you want to stop iCloud from syncing your call history across devices altogether, you can turn it off from the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap your Apple account name at the top.
- Here, navigate to iCloud > Saved to iCloud.

- Now, turn off the Phone & FaceTime toggle.

iPhone Call History Not Deleting? Try These Troubleshooting Methods
If you are facing issues deleting your call history on your iPhone, then try out these troubleshooting methods for the specific problems you are facing:
- Deleted calls keep reappearing: If another Apple device on the same account still has those calls, iCloud will sync them back to your iPhone. Delete the entries on all devices or turn off iCloud sync temporarily under Settings > Apple account > iCloud > Saved to iCloud.
- Clear option not showing: Make sure you tap on Edit first and then Select before looking for the Clear option. If you are on an older version of iOS, the layout may look slightly different. Update your iPhone under Settings > General > Software Update to get the latest version.
- FaceTime calls are still showing: FaceTime call history is managed separately in the FaceTime app. Go into the FaceTime app and delete those entries individually.
- Swipe left is not working: Try swiping more slowly and directly across the call entry. If it still does not work, then restart your iPhone and try to repeat it.
- Call history is still showing on another device: This is normal iCloud behaviour. Deletions sync across devices but can take a few minutes to reflect. Give it some time, or open and close the Phone app on the other device to trigger a refresh.
Deleting call history on your iPhone is straightforward once you know where to look. For most people, the swipe-left method is the best option to go for, while Clear All Recents is the fastest way to wipe everything at once. I hope this guide helped you manage your call logs the way you wanted to.
