Summary
- The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 hasn't been benchmarked yet, but the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 scores 413,829 points in AnTuTu.
- In Geekbench, the 4 Gen 2 scores 933 points in single-core and 2,213 points in multi-core, whereas given the 4 Gen 4's core resemblance, it should score the same.
- The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 is pretty much identical to the 4 Gen 2, with a strong focus on efficiency while performing decently well.
Notes
We benchmarked the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 on the Poco M6 Plus 5G. The Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 is yet to be tested.
It's been a while since Qualcomm unveiled the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, the successor of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, and we're yet to see manufacturers use it in their smartphones. Although it's a successor, the overall specifications are mostly the same, so where exactly does the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 differ? Well, we can't answer that question now, but we can at least get a bird's-eye view of where the difference lies.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 vs Snapdragon 4 Gen 2: AnTuTu Score
We don't have the official AnTuTu scores for the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 since there's no device rocking the same at the moment. However, we did benchmark the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 on the Poco M6 Plus 5G, and it scored 413,829 points. Considering Snapdragon 4 Gen 4's specifications, it should score around the 420,000 point mark.

Now, Qualcomm claims the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 is manufactured on a slightly better process than the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2, which should make it a bit more efficient. However, performance-wise, since both the processors sport 2x Cortex-A78 cores at 2.3 GHz and 6x Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0 GHz, the performance should be nearly identical.
Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 vs Snapdragon 4 Gen 2: Geekbench Score
With both the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 boasting the same core configuration, the single-core and multi-core scores are also expected to be the same. While we don't have the scores of Snapdragon 4 Gen 4, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 scores 933 points in single-core and 2,213 points. The 4 Gen 4 should score a little higher, but the difference will be well within the margin of error.
Both the Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 and Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 are expected to perform similarly to the MediaTek counterparts, like the Dimensity 6300. They will not be known for their performance but for their stability, great thermals and bringing 5G on budget.
