Apple may once again reserve its high refresh-rate displays for its more expensive iPhones. A new supply chain leak suggests the upcoming iPhone 18e will retain the same 60 Hz display as its predecessor. Meanwhile, we also get to know the display specifications of the iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2.
iPhone 18 Series Display Specifications Leaked
According to a new supply chain leak shared by Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the iPhone 18e will continue to use a 6.1-inch 1.5K 60 Hz LTPS OLED display. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 and iPhone Air 2 are expected to receive higher-end 120 Hz LTPO OLED panels.

Specifically, the iPhone 18 is tipped to feature a 6.3-inch 1.5K 120 Hz LTPO OLED display, whereas the iPhone Air 2 could sport a 6.55-inch 1.5K 120 Hz LTPO OLED panel.
So, from the looks of it, that will leave the iPhone 18e as the only iPhone without a ProMotion display upgrade. Not to mention that both the iPhone 16e and iPhone 17e featured 60 Hz displays, making this the third consecutive year that an "e" series iPhone doesn't get a high refresh-rate display.
Beyond the iPhone 18 lineup, the tipster also claims Apple has already begun testing the iPhone 19 Pro and the iPhone Ultra 2 for a 2027 launch. However, when replying to a comment that asks if the next generation will be called iPhone 19, DCS refers to it as a temporary name.
Since Apple is launching 20th anniversary iPhones next year, chances are the Cupertino giant will skip the iPhone 19 to launch the iPhone 20 directly. This also makes sense since Apple also launched the iPhone X as part of its 10th anniversary way back in 2017.
It appears that Apple's 2026-2027 roadmap is certainly on track, with the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max likely launching this year alongside the first iPhone Ultra. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 18 could launch next year alongside the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2.
