Apple's iPhone 17 lineup saw a bunch of new changes made to the design, especially to that of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. From the new camera plateau to the dual-tone design at the back, a lot has changed. Well, it seems like Apple isn't done refining the phones yet, as a new leak suggests an interesting design change for the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max could ditch the dual-tone design
If you take a look at the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max design, you'll notice that the dual-tone design at the back is primarily created by the MagSafe charging glass slab. According to reliable leaker Instant digital on Weibo, Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max could be refining this "back panel glass replacement process" to minimise the colour difference with the rest of the aluminium frame.

Apple will reportedly do so to bring about a "sense of unity" in the iPhone 18 Pro design. Maybe this is what previous leaks meant by the iPhone 18 Pro "transparent design". It could just mean that the transparency of the back panel glass could simply be increased to blend well with the rest of the frame and not have that dual-tone finish anymore.
However, design is not the only area where Apple is reportedly planning on improving with the iPhone 18 lineup. Not too long ago, we also got to know of the iPhone 18 Pro variable aperture cameras. Apart from that, the iPhone 18 Pro colours were also tipped a while back and it seems like Apple has already gotten bored with the Cosmic Orange colourway.

We also know that the iPhone 18 Pro modem will most likely be Apple-made, instead of the brand depending on Qualcomm. Under the hood, the Apple A20 Pro chipset is expected to power the next-gen iPhones.
Overall, the iPhone 18 lineup is turning out to be quite an interesting offering next year. However, given how reports already suggest a delay in the iPhone 18 launch, it's difficult to say anything for sure at this point.
