Apple is expected to enter the foldable phone market later this year with the iPhone Ultra. Ahead of launch, a new leak suggests that the phone could pack a large battery capacity despite having a slim design.
iPhone Ultra Battery Details Leaked
According to a new leak from prominent tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, official certification filings have revealed the exact battery configuration of the iPhone Fold. The leak suggests that the foldable will arrive with a minimum total capacity of 4,883mAh in a dual-cell arrangement.

Due to the structural demands of the foldable form factor, manufacturers typically split the batteries into two separate sections. Apple is expected to do the same with the iPhone Ultra, as the brand's battery suppliers have reportedly "entered the network to record two new batteries". The primary cell could be a 1,921mAh unit, whereas the secondary cell seems to be of 2,962mAh capacity.
The total capacity of 4,883mAh aligns well with the previous iPhone Ultra supply chain leaks, which estimated a total capacity ranging from 4,800mAh to 5,000mAh. This is higher than the 4,400mAh battery of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the rumoured 4,800mAh capacity of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 8, which is rumoured to arrive with a 4,800mAh unit.
All in all, the iPhone Ultra battery will outpace the Z Fold 7's battery when combined with the rumoured 2nm Apple A20 Pro chipset, which is expected to be more power-efficient. That said, it's unfortunately nowhere near the 7,000mAh capacity of the newly launched Vivo X Fold 6.
As per an iPhone launch roadmap shared by Bloomberg not too long ago, the iPhone Ultra will launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series in September 2026. Given that a report recently claimed that the iPhone Ultra mass production will begin this month, this timeline makes a lot of sense. Expect more details to surface in the coming months leading up to the launch.
