The race to develop a truly bezel-less display is still going strong with innovations such as in-display cameras, curved screens and more. However, in a surprising turn of events, new information suggests Apple could soon join the race and develop an entirely new screen for its next generation of iPhones called the Liquid Glass Display.
Apple Could Solve the Long-Standing Bezels Issue
The information was shared by tipster Ice Universe, who shared a detailed description of the upcoming technology. Besides, he also shared a concept render of what the screen could look like. According to the leak, Apple could pivot away from a traditional quad-curved display for an extremely subtle physical curvature.

The tipster notes that the display "flows like liquid" and yet stays "as pure and transparent as glass". This suggests that Apple could adopt an entirely new design language for the iOS ecosystem.
What makes this rumoured display unique is that instead of bending the OLED panel to the sides, it uses a "sophisticated combination of optical refraction and visual illusions". By manipulating how light travels through the topmost layer of the glass, the display can create a distinct visual effect where the bezels disappear into oblivion.
While the latest provided the technical breakdown, they aren't the only ones who hinted at the design shift. Just hours ago, DCS posted a similar concept image on Weibo where they highlighted the design. This adds further weight to the original leak that Apple is indeed exploring optical illusions to hide the physical borders of the screen.

If these leaks hold true, the Liquid Glass Display could redefine smartphone displays, giving iPhones the most significant visual overhauls since the introduction of the Notch and Dynamic Island. We can then expect Android manufacturers to copy the design, of course.
With the iPhone 18 series launch set in 2026, early rumours point to Apple switching to a smaller Dynamic Island. Therefore, this new design change could be exclusive to the iPhone 19 series, which is expected to debut in 2027. More information about the same should be revealed soon, so stay tuned.
