Samsung's summer Unpacked 2026 event today, on July 22, 2026, saw the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Z Fold 8 Ultra and Z Flip 8. Additionally, the South Korean giant also announced the Galaxy Watch 9, Watch 9 Ultra and, for the first time, a pair of AI-powered smart glasses.
1. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
Leading the pack is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Samsung's new top-tier foldable, starting at Rs 1,99,999. It carries a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover screen and an 8-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X main display, both running at 120 Hz.
The camera setup includes a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and 30x Space Zoom, capable of 8K video recording.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is fueled by a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired charging and weighs 215 grams. The foldable also measures just 4.1mm in thickness when unfolded and, to keep thermals in check, is backed by what Samsung calls an expanded graphite cooling structure.

2. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8
The standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 starts at Rs 1,79,999 and brings a big design shift for Samsung. Instead of the tall, narrow form factor the Galaxy Z Fold series has stuck with for years, the Z Fold 8 switches to a wide passport-style format fold, with the interior screen adopting a 4:3 aspect ratio.
The main display is a 7.6-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED panel, while the cover screen is a 5.5-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
It weighs 201 grams and packs a larger 4,800mAh battery compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 7's 4,400mAh capacity. There's also support for Super-Fast Charging 2.0 and Super-Fast Wireless Charging.
Unlike the Ultra variant, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 skips the telephoto lens, relying on a 50 MP main and 50 MP ultrawide camera pairing with 10x digital zoom and 8K video recording support.
Both Fold models, along with the Galaxy Z Flip 8, use Samsung's new Flex Titanium Display technology. This basically adds a titanium alloy layer beneath the flexible OLED panel to improve display support, absorb impact, and reduce crease visibility.

3. Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8
On the clamshell side, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 starts at Rs 1,24,999 in India, coming off as the most economical option of the lot. It features a 4.1-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED cover display with up to 120 Hz adaptive refresh rate, and a 6.9-inch Full HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X 120 Hz inner screen.
The camera setup includes a 50 MP main sensor and a 12 MP ultrawide, supporting 10x digital zoom and 4K @ 60 FPS video. Battery capacity stays flat at 4,300mAh, the same as last year's Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the phone weighs 180 grams, making it the lightest of the three new foldables.

4. Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2
Samsung's wearables also got meaningful upgrades. The Galaxy Watch 9 has launched in India with a 390mAh battery, a 20% increase over the Watch 8, while retaining a peak display brightness of 3,000 nits. It's available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes, starting at Rs 37,999 for the Wi-Fi-only model and Rs 41,999 for the LTE variant.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 gets more substantial gains, with a brighter 5,000-nit display (up from 3,000 nits on the previous generation). It packs an 800mAh battery, which is a 35% capacity increase from the predecessor's unit.
While it retains the titanium casing, it is 12% thinner than the original Galaxy Watch Ultra at 10.7mm. It's priced at Rs 64,999 for the sole 47mm titanium configuration.
Both watches now run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. For those unaware, it is the first wearable-focused Snapdragon chip to include a dedicated Hexagon NPU capable of running AI models with up to two billion parameters.
Health tracking gets a notable boost too, with both smartwatches tying into Samsung's new AI-powered Health Assistant. This brings features like a Vitals monitoring function, a Fitness Index, Sleep Apnea detection, Heart Health Score, and noise alerts to the watches.
Additionally, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 gets trail-running guidance, a nutrition and hydration alert system and diving-focused features.

5. Galaxy Glasses
Samsung also used Unpacked to officially launch its first AI smart glasses, developed in partnership with Google, Gentle Monster, and Warby Parker.
The Galaxy Glasses skip a display entirely, instead relying on a built-in 12 MP camera and Google Gemini for AI assistance delivered purely through audio. This brings real-time translation, notification summaries, navigation, and the ability to capture and save visual information like whiteboards directly into Samsung Notes.
They're powered by a Snapdragon AR1 Gen 1 chipset, weigh around 50 grams, and are rated for up to 9 hours of battery life, with the charging case offering multiple additional refills.
Pricing hasn't been announced yet, and availability is expected to be limited to select markets.

6. One UI 9 and New AI Features
Alongside the hardware, Samsung's new devices ship with the stable One UI 9 update, built on Android 17, which brings system-wide floating windows for any app. Other highlight additions include larger system sliders and a reworked lock screen media player, along with deeper Gemini integration across Samsung's native apps.
Thanks to One UI 9, Gemini Intelligence also debuts on these devices as an AI automation tool that supports over 40 apps for tasks like booking tickets or ordering food. Gemini Intelligence is also capable of understanding on-screen content and image-based prompts.
Between two flagship foldables, a redesigned Flip, upgraded watches, and Samsung's first real push into AI smart glasses, this was one of the more packed Unpacked events in recent memory.
Pre-orders for all the new foldables are live starting today. General sales for all the devices (with the exception of the Galaxy Glasses) will kick off on August 7, 2026.
