After teasing the Magic 8 and the Magic 8 Pro smartphones for a while, Honor has now revealed when both phones will go official. The Magic 8 series is confirmed to launch on October 15, 2025, in Shenzhen, China. A dedicated launch event will go live starting 7:00 PM CST (or 4:30 PM IST).

While the brand has not divulged a lot of the core specifications of both phones, it did reveal that the Honor Magic 8 Pro will be powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Honor has not revealed the powerhouse of the standard Magic 8 yet.
However, we believe that it will either ship with the 2024 Snapdragon 8 Elite flagship chipset or could very well become the first smartphone to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 mobile platform.

Honor Magic 8 series will lean heavily towards AI with a physical button
Apart from this, both phones are going to become the first "AI self-evolving" devices, with a new quick trigger key for AI functions like we saw with the Nothing Phone 3 and the OnePlus 13s. The smartphones will make use of Honor's MagicGUI multimodal AI to unlock on-device AI capabilities.
As for the other specs, expect the smartphones to feature a 1.5K 120 Hz LTPO OLED display, Android 16-based MagicOS 10, a triple 50 MP rear camera setup and more.

Design-wise, the Magic 8 Pro was recently showcased at the Snapdragon Summit 2025. It flaunts a circular camera deco in the middle with the Honor branding at the bottom.
The smartphone has an overall flat profile and houses all the buttons on the right with the speaker grille, USB-C port, SIM tray and the secondary microphone at the bottom. Official colour options for the smartphone include Rising Sun Golden Sands, Azure Blue, Snowy White and Velvet Black.

That said, it is clear that the limelight is on the Magic 8 Pro this year. We will know more details about the standard Magic 8 once both phones go live in China. The launch event will also see the arrival of MagicOS 10, Honor's next software refresh. Additionally, the Honor MagicPad 3 Pro, Earbuds Pro and the Watch5 Pro are also confirmed to launch on the same day.
