While we are still months away from WWDC 2026, Apple's backend servers are apparently already giving up secrets. New code strings discovered today have reportedly revealed four major Apple Intelligence features currently in development. These features suggest that Apple could be planning to expand "Visual Intelligence" and introduce system-wide automation with iOS 27.
New Apple Intelligence Features Spotted
The new Apple Intelligence features were spotted by MacRumours, referencing backend code discovered by leaker Nicolás Alvarez.
Firstly, Apple is reportedly preparing a massive update to Visual Intelligence capabilities accessible via the camera app. Users will soon be able to point their iPhone camera at a food nutrition label to instantly analyse the data. Additionally, the code suggests deep integration with the Apple Health app, allowing users to automatically log calories, macros and sugar intake.

Besides, like how Visual Intelligence already recognises calendar dates, the report suggests it could soon add printed phone numbers and addresses to contacts.
Moreover, Visual Intelligence could also allow users to scan printed phone numbers and addresses and add them to contacts. Since it already recognises calendar dates, contacts should ideally be the next step forward.
Apart from this, Apple's Wallet app is said to be getting a significant upgrade with Apple Intelligence. It could use AI to scan physical event tickets, gym membership cards and the like to generate a verified digital version of it all. This is similar to how Google Wallet can add loyalty cards, tickets and more to the e-wallet.
The fourth Apple Intelligence feature spotted in the backend code is a smart tab grouping feature for Safari. Smart Tab Groups in Safari could automatically categorise and name your open tabs based on their content.
For example, if you have five tabs open about travel to Japan and three about pasta recipes, Safari could intelligently group them under "Tokyo Trip" and "Dinner Ideas" without you lifting a finger.

The report does state that it's uncertain at this point whether these features will work as described, since it's all based on the feature names spotted in individual code strings. Moreover, it's not possible to say if these Apple Intelligence features will arrive with iOS 27 or be part of a phased rollout.
However, since Apple seems to be actively working on a Gemini-powered Siri app to bring deeper AI integration across apps, it makes sense. If these leaks hold up, iOS 27 may finally tie everything together and end up being a defining release for Apple Intelligence.
