Apple's "Awe dropping" even is on the horizon, but we're still seeing new leaks appear ahead of the iPhone 17 series launch. The latest one claims that the Dynamic Island on the iPhone 17 Pro has been designed to take a smaller form factor.
The leak comes from X user @that_one_g3, who claims to be working for a firm that makes screen protectors for iPhones. The user has shared an image of a device that's used to make cut-outs on screen protectors, and its screen offers a glimpse of the Dynamic Island cutouts on each of the upcoming iPhone 17 models.

As per this source, the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max may get a redesigned Dynamic Island that's reportedly 1.5cm in size, compared to the 2cm width on the iPhone 16 series. Additional images shared by the user also hint that the cutouts on the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Air may remain the same as previous models.
If this turns out to be true, it will be the first time since the introduction of Dynamic Island that we're seeing a redesign to the front-facing camera and sensor system. That said, this information needs to be taken with a grain of salt, especially because the account has no history of sharing Apple leaks or rumours.
A smaller Dynamic Island was rumoured to come to the iPhone 17 models as part of early leaks, but they were later squashed. Some believed it would only come to the Pro Max version, while others indicated that a Dynamic Island redesign would only be part of the iPhone 18 series.
With just three days to go for "Awe dropping" event on September 9, 2025, we'll get the full picture when Apple announces the new iPhone 17 series. Until then, we just have to play the waiting game.
