The iQOO 16 and iQOO Pad Ultra will launch on September 29, 2026, and ahead of that, the brand has revealed their processor and key gaming upgrades. From a new custom-made Q4 chip to PC emulation capabilities, the devices will leave no stone unturned to satisfy gamers.
The iQOO 16 will be powered by the newly launched Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. For those unaware, it's an octa-core offering with a maximum clock speed of 5 GHz and uses Qualcomm's latest Oryon cores. Besides, it is based on TSMC's 2nm process for improved efficiency.
Additionally, the processor will be supported by iQOO's in-house and newly developed Q4 chipset. iQOO reveals that it uses a fresh tri-core architecture and the proprietary QNSS super rendering engine. This will help enable ray tracing while stacking it directly with HDR, bringing "virtual point light source technology" to smartphones for the first time.
The brand has also teased a Mobile Lumen real-time ray tracing demo, while also confirming support for an "8K game camera feature". It will allow users to capture high-resolution in-game screenshots and dynamic photos that retain all active ray tracing, super resolution, and filter effects.
The iQOO 16 will be heavily optimised for competitive games, as it will natively support 2K resolution at 165 FPS. 13 other popular mobile games will also benefit from built-in true 2K super resolution. To match the display speed, iQOO is debuting its Q-flex control technology, which hooks directly into a game's rendering pipeline.
As a result, this reduces touch latency by over 28% in 165 Hz scenarios, improving joystick reset rates in games like Call of Duty Mobile and shaving up to 5 ms off input delay in Honor of Kings. Under the hood, handling sustained performance is the next-generation Monster super core engine and a proprietary kernel scheduler overhaul.
Interestingly, the phone will feature an in-house PC game emulator capable of running nearly 100 PC titles offline with virtual or external gamepad support. When connected to a larger display, the devices will switch to a dedicated big-screen mode supporting over 20 mobile games.
That said, there's something for creators too, as the iQOO 16 and iQOO Pad Ultra will feature built-in livestreaming tools that offer native high-frame-rate output, lossless encoding and automated smart highlight clipping after the stream ends.
That's where the official details end. However, a recent iQOO 16 display leak also revealed that it will feature a 2K Samsung M16 OLED panel with a whopping 11,000 nits of peak brightness.
