Oppo is officially putting an end to weeks of anticipation surrounding its upcoming upper mid-range series, the Reno 16. The brand has announced two new smartphones coming soon to India – the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16C, while confirming key details about their design and display specifications.

Oppo Reno 16 and 16C to feature a 3D Holographic Design

The brand has officially confirmed that the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16C will be launching in India. Both phones will feature a 3D Pop Planet Design that we previously saw in a host of Oppo Reno 16 design leaks. The brand has confirmed three colourways – Starry White, Twilight Violet and Stellar Purple.

Oppo claims that it uses a dual-layer optical structure and a microlens array to generate a stereoscopic, floating planet effect beneath the glass. The brand calls it HoloVerse 3D technology, and it's inspired by the "beauty of the cosmos".

Besides, the brand also revealed the display specifications of the Reno 16 and Reno 16C. The Reno 16 will feature a 6.32-inch FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED display with display bezels as narrow as 1.6 mm and a peak brightness of 1,800 nits. The phone will weigh 182 grams and be 8.22 mm thick.

The Oppo Reno 16C, on the other hand, will feature a slightly larger 6.57-inch FHD+ 120 Hz AMOLED panel, but topping out at 1,400 nits of peak brightness. It will be slightly thicker at 8.44mm and will weigh 195 grams.

Endurance will be the forte of both models as they will carry IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings. Besides, the standard Reno 16 uses an Aerospace-Grade Aluminium Frame that, Oppo claims, provides 36% better drop resistance.

Besides, both the Reno 16 and 16C will come with Splash Touch and Glove Touch software optimisations, where the software will help keep the screen responsive when wet or when using gloves. Additionally, Oppo's dedicated AI snap key will also be making its debut on the Reno 16 series.

As for the other specifications, the standard Reno 16 is expected to arrive with a 6,700mAh battery, ColorOS 16.1 out of the box and a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. Although not much is known about the Reno 16C, it's expected to feature a Dimensity 7300 chipset, a 6,500mAh battery, and 45W SuperVOOC charging.

While the display specs and designs are out, we are yet to hear of an official Oppo Reno 16 launch date in India. However, if reports are anything to go by, the phones could launch in the first week of July 2026. Until then, stay tuned.
