Six months after the Oppo Reno 15 launched in India, the brand is already ready to introduce its successor in the country. We get to see the regular Oppo Reno 16 out in the wild, thanks to a new leak, giving us a good look at its design.

Oppo Reno 16 Design Leaked

Courtesy of tipster Yogesh Brar, we get to see the back design of the Oppo Reno 16 in a white colourway. At first glance, the smartphone doesn't look all that different from its successor.

However, upon closer inspection, there's a new kind of cosmic 3D design at the rear panel, using what seems like Oppo's HoloFusion technology. The last generation had a different thread-like pattern at the back instead.

While the other elements, like the branding and the squircle camera island, remain the same. However, the position of the third camera lens has been moved a bit, giving it a slightly more asymmetrical look.

This also falls in line with the Oppo Reno 16 design renders that leaked recently. Going by that previous leak, the smartphone will also come in a maroon colour option.

Oppo Reno 16 Specifications (Expected)

We also know quite a lot of things about the Oppo Reno 16 specs, thanks to its China launch. The upcoming phone is said to feature a 6.32-inch 120 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display just like its Chinese counterpart.

Under the hood, the global and Indian variants will most likely be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset instead of the Dimensity 8550 Super chipset. In other words, it will use the same chipset as the Oppo Reno 15.

The phone could also pack a smaller 6,000mAh battery (Chinese variant has 6,700mAh capacity). However, the charging speeds are said to remain the same at 80W.

In terms of optics, the Oppo Reno 16 Indian variant is said to swap the 200 MP main camera with a 50 MP lens. The rest of the cameras remain the same, with a 50 MP ultrawide and 50 MP periscope lens accompanying the primary. On the software front, the smartphone is expected to run on the ColorOS 16.1 update out of the box.

While nothing can be said about the Oppo Reno 16 price, going by the current RAM crisis situation, it could be inflated between Rs 45,000 and Rs 50,000.

Oppo Reno 16c Launching in India Alongside?

While we already know that the Oppo Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro will be launching in India, a 91Mobiles report also suggests that there will be a Reno 16c. The Reno 16c is said to be a rebranded Oppo Reno 16F, which will launch in Malaysia and Indonesia. We also see it retain the same design language as the regular Reno 16, along with the same texture at the back.

Last year as well, we saw the Oppo Reno 15c launch alongside the regular Reno 15 and more premium Reno 15 Pro. So, this year won't be any different. As per leaks, the Oppo Reno 16c will feature a 6.57-inch Full HD+ AMOLED 120 Hz display and be powered by the Dimensity 7300 chipset

Additionally, the upcoming smartphone is said to sport a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 50 MP telephoto shooter and an 8 MP ultrawide lens. At the front, the smartphone may utilise another 50 MP shooter. The report also suggests it will pack a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

For now, this is all that we know about the upcoming phones. However, we do expect to get an official teaser soon since the phones are likely to launch in India next month. So, stay tuned.
