It's been a week since the Oppo Reno 16 series China launch took place and we are already hearing details about the lineup for launch in regions like India and the global markets. While there are only two phones as part of the series in China, it seems like Oppo is planning to add three new phones for its global launch.
Oppo Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16 FS Global Launch Tipped
An exclusive report shared by tech publication 91mobiles has revealed that Oppo is gearing to launch the Reno 16 series in global markets, with three new phones - the standard Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro and an all-new Reno 16 FS. All of them are expected to go official in July 2026 and are apparently completely different in specs from what we saw with their China launch.
Starting with the standard Reno 16, it has been shown off with the same design as the Chinese Oppo Reno 16 model, but with a new maroon colour option. However, in terms of specs, both are mostly different.

The global variant is tipped to get a 6.32-inch 120 Hz 1.5K AMOLED display, same as the Chinese unit. However, it is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset instead of the Dimensity 8550 Super SoC. It is also said to get a smaller 6,000mAh battery compared to the 6.700mAh unit inside the Chinese variant. Charging is said to stay the same at 80W.
A major difference will be seen in the camera department, where the 200 MP main camera is reportedly getting swapped with a 50 MP unit. It will only retain the 50 MP ultra-wide and 50 MP periscope lenses. Rest, the Reno 16 global unit is said to bring an aluminium frame, in-display fingerprint scanner and IP69 rating.

As for the Reno 16 Pro, while the design remains the same as the Chinese Reno 16 Pro model, the specs are almost different in every segment. For starters, instead of the 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, the phone is getting the same 6.32-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel as that of the Reno 16. However, the refresh rate is being bumped from 120 Hz to 144 Hz and is also Gorilla Glass 7i protected.
The chipset is also getting downgraded from the Dimensity 9500s processor to the Dimensity 8550. It is said to be paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is also getting a reduced charging capacity, down from 7,000mAh to 6,700mAh and also misses out on wireless charging support.
Only the cameras remain unchanged, with a 200 MP main sensor, a 50 MP ultra-wide and a 50 MP periscope lens. It also uses a 50 MP selfie camera. It is also said to come with 80W fast USB-C charging support, an aluminium frame, stereo speakers, NFC and an IP69 rating.

Lastly, the Reno 16 FS is a completely new model and is said to be positioned as the entry-level phone of the Reno 16 series for the global market. It is said to come with a 6.57-inch Full HD+ 120 Hz AMOLED, Dimensity 7300 chipset, LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, 50 MP main, 50 MP telephoto and 8 MP ultra-wide cameras and a 6,500mAh battery with 45W charging. The phone is also said to bring a 50 MP selfie camera, a plastic frame and an IP69 rating.
That said, none of the details have been officially revealed yet. So, take them with a pinch of salt. The Oppo Reno 16 series India launch is also said to take place in June and bring four new phones - Reno 16C, Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16 Pro Mini. If the latest leak is to be believed, expect to see the Indian variants of the phones to arrive with similar specifications.
