Realme has officially revealed more details about the camera system of its upcoming GT 8 Pro. The brand has highlighted the collaboration with Ricoh Imaging to promise a Ricoh GR-inspired smartphone photography experience with the Realme GT 8 Pro.
Realme GT 8 Pro Ricoh GR Mode will bring fast startup speeds, a Viewfinder Mode and more
The partnership, which Realme says has been in the works for several years, brings a custom Ricoh-tuned lens to the GT 8 Pro. This is designed for high transparency, minimal distortion and an improved anti-glare performance. Realme claims the optics are engineered to deliver sharper and clearer images to closely align with the visual quality of Ricoh's GR series cameras.

Now, a major highlight of the Realme GT 8 Pro will be its dedicated Ricoh GR Mode, which aims to replicate the feel of using a Ricoh GR camera. The mode will bring fast startup speeds, the iconic GR IV shutter sound, a Snap mode for quick captures and a Viewfinder Mode for users to focus on composition.
Additionally, Realme has also incorporated the 28mm and 40mm full-frame focal lengths. The former will be handy for wide shots, while the latter for tighter shots. Moreover, the Realme GT 8 Pro Ricoh GR Mode will also let users choose from the Standard, Positive Film, Negative Film, Monotone and High-Contrast Black and White Ricoh GR tones. Further, users will be able to customise their images via a Custom Tone feature.
This strategic partnership with RICOH GR marks a transformative leap in smartphone photography. We are committed to equipping users with a device that embodies freedom, creativity, and authenticity. The GT 8 Pro not only integrates GR’s iconic photography legacy but also sets a new standard for capturing and sharing experiences in the digital age.

Beyond technical features, the Realme GT 8 Pro will support a community-oriented approach as well. Users will be able to add Ricoh GR-style watermarks, organise photos in dedicated GR albums and share custom tone settings with others.
The Realme GT 8 Pro launch date is not known as of now, although it is expected to land in China later this month. Meanwhile, the global launch is expected to happen sometime in November 2026. It has also been confirmed to be the first phone with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 to launch in India, so there's that.
One thing is clear – with a Ricoh-inspired camera system, the Realme GT 8 Pro has an opportunity to shine brighter than the GT 7 Pro ever could.
