Chinese smartphone and tech accessories brand Realme is looking to bring more Made in India products to consumers. As part of this objective, the brand has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian electronics manufacturing brand, Optiemus Electronics (OEL).
The first product born out of this partnership is the budget Realme Buds T200 Lite TWS earbuds. It already launched in India back in March 2025. The earbuds are currently being manufactured and distributed via OEL's plant in Noida, India.

At the time of writing, OEL is already actively producing 2,500 units of the TWS on a daily basis. The brand is looking to scale the production volume to 10,000 units per day in the coming months.
Along with the Buds T200 Lite, the Rs 1,999 earbuds, the Realme Buds T200 are also going to join this localised initiative shortly.

According to Francis Wong, Head of Product Marketing at Realme, this new collaboration is just the beginning, since the brand plans to bring its future audio products to India under the same initiative.
This is exactly the kind of progress we set out to make when we partnered with OEL. Getting the T200 Lite into production and out into the market from India is a clear step forward. We’re moving fast, and our next focus is bringing more advanced earbuds like the hybrid ANC models into local production. It’s about building smart, building locally, and doing it at scale.
— Francis Wong, Head of Product Marketing at Realme
This makes sense since this new initiative is part of Realme's ultimate AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things) goal to shift the entire product portfolio to India in the next three years. The brand is already working to bring indigenous components to the mix like batteries, Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), cables and more.
The current AIoT production goal is set at 5 million devices annually. Such a large-scale operation will also be key in creating employment opportunities within India. This single collaboration alone is projected to generate over 2,000 jobs.
Realme is not the only brand making such collaborations, since recently, OnePlus joined hands with Bhagwati Products Limited to manufacture tablets in India. With more and more tech giants following this path, India could be looking at a significant boost to its manufacturing landscape.
